Blues have enjoyed an incredibly exciting past few years, since the American investment firm gained control of the club in 2023 with a 45 per cent purchase.

After suffering relegation to the Championship at the end of that season, the Second City outfit responded with an ambitious transfer window which saw them break the League One transfer record in a £15m+ deal for Jay Stansfield.

Chris Davies’ side would go on to clinch the third-tier title in record-breaking fashion, which set expectations high heading into the 2025/26 term.

Birmingham continued to recruit heavily, bringing top-flight operators such as Tommy Doyle, Kyogo Furuhashi and Demarai Gray to St. Andrew’s.

Blues have experienced mixed fortunes upon their return to the Championship, but three wins in their last four matches has pushed them back up into play-off contention, which will satisfy owner Tom Wagner.

Adding to the positivity Birmingham have enjoyed in recent years, another development has emerged which will further boost hopes that they will be back fighting in the top-flight soon.

When Knighthead Capital Management gained control of 45 per cent in Blues two years ago, there was always a view of increasing that stake in the near future.

Birmingham have now revealed that Knighthead have purchased the 51 per cent stake owned by ZO FUTURE GROUP to end their association with the club, which Wagner has described as an “important milestone for Knighthead and Birmingham City Football Club.

The confirmation of this deal allows Wagner and Co. to continue with their plans to build a new stadium and Sports Quarter in the heart of Birmingham, helping increase the club’s infrastructure to that of a Premier League club.

This news has come as an extremely positive development for Blues supporters, who haven’t been shy about expressing their feelings on the matter.

There has been plenty to shout about at St. Andrew’s over the past few years, and supporters are absolutely delighted that Knighthead Capital Management have now gained full control of the club.

“We’ve finally done it, we’ve got our club back nothing remains of the crooked past,” commented one happy fan.

“Thank god we’ve rid ourselves of that previous regime up the Tom Wagner KRO,” stated another.

"WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!!! UP THE BLUE MACHINE UP THE KNIGHTHEAD UP THE GARDNER! PASHUN FC," expressed one more.

Some members of the St. Andrew’s faithful were in disbelief over what had happened and couldn’t contain their excitement over the fact that Knighthead are now in complete control of the club.

“BEST NEWS WE'VE HAD IN 15 YEARS!!!” exclaimed one Blues supporter.

“Best news this in the last 20 years of the club. Thank you for loving the club as much as I do and all the fans…..KRO,” commented another.

Given how ambitious Birmingham have looked over the past couple of years since Knighthead’s involvement began, it is understandable why supporters are so excited about this development.

There is no limit to what Blues could achieve in the future, and that is in a large part down to their new ownership.
