Birmingham City drew 1-1 with Charlton Athletic at St Andrew's on Saturday, as the hosts slipped to 12th in the Championship and the visitors climbed to 17th.

Demarai Gray rattled the post in the 23rd minute before Christoph Klarer glanced a header in for Birmingham (28.) from Thomas Doyle's set-piece cross.

Substitute Tyreece Campbell hauled Charlton Athletic level (67.) from close range soon after coming on.

Gray then struck the bar for Birmingham (72.) as Chris Davies' side pushed for a winner.

Thomas Kaminski kept the visitors in it late on, parrying Gray's long-range effort as the game tightened.

Six minutes were added, but neither side found a decisive moment. Birmingham recorded 24 attempts and 61% possession. Charlton Athletic managed seven attempts and worked the goalkeeper once.

Next, Birmingham visit Sheffield United. Charlton Athletic host Oxford United.
