The Liverpool loanee was sent off against Preston at the weekend and his club has now released a statement about his ban.

Owen Beck has settled in well at Blackburn Rovers. The Welsh left-back has caught the eye with some impressive performances and is already a regular in the starting XI.

But last weekend he made headlines for the wrong reasons, being sent off in a fierce encounter against Preston after kicking out against his American opponent Duane Holmes.

Amid the melee following his dismissal, Beck was grabbed and allegedly bitten by Montenegrin international, Milutin Osmajic.

The incident has gone viral, with Beck visibly shaken in the aftermath.

It is understood that according to the Lancanshire Telegraph, Blackburn have made contact with the FA over the incident in what is an ongoing investigation.

In the meantime, though Blackburn have released a statement on their social media account about Beck's impending ban.

The Liverpool loanee received a straight red car for his violent action on Holmes, which occurred prior to the alleged Osmajic biting incident.

Therefore, his red card will be upheld and Beck will serve a three match suspension as confirmed by Blackburn's media channel.

Considering how well the left-back has started at Blackburn, that will be a huge blow for Beck.

He joined the club after an impressive spell at Dundee FC last season and has made the significant step-up to the Championship with ease.

Still very highly rated, Klopp has lauded him in the past as a 'super talent.' Although whether he still has a future at Anfield is now up to Arne Slot.

Liverpool are well stocked in the left-back department. However, Kostas Tsimikas could be considering his future as a back-up sooner rather than later.
