Blindkilde Brown: I’m growing in confidence | OneFootball

Laura Blindkilde Brown says she’s growing with each passing appearance she makes for City following our 4-1 win over London City Lionesses.

The England international started her fourth straight match for Andrée Jeglertz’s side in the impressive victory at the Joie Stadium where she scored the second against Jocelyn Precheur’s team.

Following an in-swinging corner, a deflected shot fell into the 22-year-old’s path before she drilled low into the bottom corner for her first of the season.

She then went on to play 84 minutes as the Blues made it four wins in succession after Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s second-half brace.

For Blindkilde Brown she’s relishing the faith and tutelage of Jeglertz during her second full term with City.

“I think we're really growing this season, it doesn't matter what team we play, we just stick to what we know and it's showing on the pitch and we're scoring a lot of goals,” she explained.

“[For my goal] I just saw the ball coming and I just thought 'I'm going to hit it' and it went in the goal!

“With every game I'm just gaining more confidence and I haven't played four games on the bounce before at City so it's something new and I'm really enjoying it.

“I have to give credit to Andrée for believing in me and giving me the opportunity and just saying 'play freely' and I don't feel any pressure when I'm playing which is always good.”

Across Blindkilde Brown’s four consecutive City starts she has partnered Yui Hasegawa in each.

As a two-player midfield in Jeglertz’s system, the duo have complimented each other excellently in both attacking and defensive phases of the game as we have scored 14 goals and conceded just four in our past four outings.

And Blindkilde Brown says she’s learning from the Japan international every time they take to the field.

She added: “Yui is so experienced and she's one of the best players in the world. To work alongside her, I learn from her every single day.

“She's so good at creating things as well so I can sit in for her and she can go create. It's a good relationship we have where we can do either.”
