According to a report from L’Équipe, BlueCo and Strasbourg are awaiting medical exams before moving forward with a deal for Brighton & Hove Albion attacking midfielder Julio Enciso (21). The Paraguay international is currently undergoing further medical exams on his knee before BlueCo, owners of Premier League side Chelsea, go ahead with signing the player permanently for Strasbourg. The decision is set to be made “today or tomorrow”, according to L’Équipe journalist Cyril Olivès-Berthet.

BlueCo had reached an agreement to sign Enciso last week along with personal terms – after the player spent the second half of last season on loan at Ipswich Town and has not featured under Fabian Hurzeler for the Seagulls this season after he was informed that he was not part of the German coach’s plans this summer.

The Paraguay international is set to initially spend time at Strasbourg, before being viewed as a long-term Chelsea player afterwards. If the deal is completed, he would be joining Argentinian and former Brighton defender Valentin Barco as well as on-loan Ecuadorian prospect Kendrey Páez in the club’s young South American contingent.GFFN | George Boxall
