Boca will begin pre-season on two January in Ezeiza, with several reserves stepping up to first-team work, according to LaNumer12.com.ar.
With Claudio Úbeda confirmed as head coach, staff are planning the return from holidays. The squad will reconvene on Friday for medicals and the first drills ahead of an intense camp.
The youngsters will aim to impress, including four from the reserve side that lifted the Torneo Clausura and Trofeo de Campeones. Starting full-backs Santiago Zampieri and Dylan Gorosito are joined by Tomás Aranda and striker Leonel Flores.
It is close to certain that several prospects will go out on loan for first-team experience. Mateo Mendía has suitors, including Peñarol of Uruguay. Valentino Simoni could also depart on loan, with Gimnasia de Mendoza interested.
Boca could start pre-season without reinforcements. They are working to bring Marino Hinestroza to Ezeiza as soon as possible, and the aim had been for him to start on day one, though a setback could alter plans.
Atlético Nacional want to retain a slice of the player’s rights and receive a fee near five million dollars. A small financial gap remains, but this should not collapse negotiations, and there is hope the move can be closed soon.
Meanwhile, Marcelo Delgado, who is leading negotiations, is confident of securing Alexis Cuello and Gastón Hernández from San Lorenzo.
