Bodo/Glimt pulled off a stunning upset by defeating Inter Milan 3-1 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League playoffs. This victory allows the Norwegian club to carve its name into the competition's history books.

By toppling Inter Milan, Jens Petter Hauge and his teammates have written a new chapter in their country's football story. Bodo/Glimt thus becomes the first Norwegian club ever to win a knockout stage match in the Champions League.

This is also the team's 50th victory in European competitions from 108 matches (20 draws, 38 defeats), and marks Inter Milan's heaviest away defeat in a Champions League knockout stage since March 11, 2009, at Old Trafford against Manchester United (2-0).

The rise of Bodo/Glimt, who already managed to surprise Manchester City and Atlético Madrid earlier in the competition, speaks volumes about the narrowing gap between Europe's clubs.

However, there's still a return leg to play next week in Italy, where the Norwegian side will try to defend their two-goal lead against an Inter team desperate to turn the tie around.
