Amario Cozier-Duberry has proven a key figure for Bolton Wanderers since arriving from Brighton in the summer.

The winger has contributed four goals and four assists from 14 appearances in League One so far this season.

That includes two winners in stoppage time in recent victories over Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City, which could prove very important results.

Steven Schumacher’s side are aiming for promotion to the Championship this season, and those victories have helped keep the team in the top six mix at this stage.

Cozier-Duberry has been praised for his natural ability, and his performances suggest he has the potential to step up and play at a higher level in the future.

When asked if Cozier-Duberry is the most naturally talented player at the club since they were in the Premier League, FLW’s Bolton fan pundit Liam O’Meara claimed that he’s up there among the best.

However, despite his impressive self-belief, he cited Liverpool loanee Conor Bradley as the player from their recent past that most stood out for their natural talent with the Whites.

“He’s only 23-years-old, so he could absolutely go far in the game,” O’Meara told Football League World.

“Naturally gifted? He’s up there, certainly, and certainly since we were in the Premier League.

“He’s a fantastic player, he has a lot of self-belief and that’s the thing that really shines about Cozier-Duberry.

“It’s not a coincidence he scored those three injury time equalisers or winners, just because he demands the ball at key moments.

“And I think that comes with his confidence.

“Is he the most naturally gifted player at Bolton Wanderers in recent years? It’s close, but I would say probably not.

“I would put Conor Bradley there.

“With Bradley, within a couple of minutes you were astonished at the natural ability that he had, he had no right to be playing League One level at all.

“But Cozier-Duberry is a fantastic player.”

Cozier-Duberry joined Bolton in the summer from Brighton on loan after an underwhelming stint with Blackburn Rovers last season.

He featured 22 times in the Championship, but started on just six occasions, and he scored only one goal.

But he has made a strong start to life in League One with Bolton, and could prove key to their promotion ambitions for this season.

Next up for Schumacher’s side is an FA Cup first round clash at home to Huddersfield Town on 1 November in a 3pm kick-off.

Amario Cozier-Duberry will be key to Bolton’s promotion hopes

Bolton will be hoping that Cozier-Duberry isn’t recalled and loaned out to a Championship side in January, as he is proving a key figure in Schumacher’s plans.

His goal against Cardiff showed exactly why he’s so important, as he stepped up in the closing stages of the game with a fantastic long-range effort to seal a big win over a rival.

Those are the goals that define a season, and Cozier-Duberry looks the most capable of delivering those kinds of moments in this Bolton squad.

He already has four goals and four assists, and he has the potential to reach double figures in both tallies by the end of the campaign if he maintains this level.
