Bolton Wanderers will have a particularly busy summer transfer window if they win promotion from League One to the Championship.

Bolton Wanderers produced a statement 5-1 win over fellow top-six club Stevenage on Tuesday night to give themselves some momentum ahead of an expected League One play-off campaign.

The Greater Manchester outfit have all but secured a top six spot, and are vying to land a long-awaited Championship return.

Wanderers will soon turn their attention to the summer transfer window, and will be particularly busy in the market if they win promotion to the second tier.

Bolton displayed great resilience with their emphatic triumph over Stevenage, as they were beaten 2-0 by Cardiff City last Saturday, leaving them with almost no chance of landing an automatic promotion spot.

Wanderers winger Amario Cozier-Duberry, who is currently on loan from Brighton, proved his class once again in the victory over Stevenage by scoring a brace, which took his tally to eight goals and eight assists in League One - all whilst spending a considerable amount of time on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Following the 20-year-old's eye-catching performance, Football League World asked our Bolton fan pundit, Liam O'Meara, how much of a priority securing the starlet's services is, either permanently or on loan, ahead of next season, if Steven Schumacher's men are promoted.

O'Meara told FLW: "I think Bolton would be very lucky to secure Amario Cozier-Duberry either in League One or the Championship. I actually think there's a Premier League level player there, to be completely honest.

"He plays at a different intensity than any other player in the league. He reminds me very much of when Bolton had Conor Bradley on loan from Liverpool. He is levels above this.

"It's not just about what he can do with the ball. It's his ability off it. He's strong, fast, good in the tackle, sees things other players don't. He's able to get a shot off quickly with quality, do things quicker than other players.

"He genuinely, I think, could play in the Premier League next season. In terms of it being a priority, yeah. Sacrifice people to the gods to get him, because why not try and get him?

"I think he's enjoying his time at Bolton, but whether we can do (sign him) is another question. I think just enjoy him while he's here and hope he can fire us up to promotion through the play-offs."

Bolton will have to win promotion to stand a chance of signing Amario Cozier-Duberry again

Cozier-Duberry has proven that he is too good for League One by scoring eight goals and producing eight assists in 31 third-tier appearances this term.

As analysed by O'Meara, the numbers do not tell the full story of a player who has excelled for Wanderers this term, handing them a realistic chance of playing in the Championship next season.

Thanks to the 20-year-old's talent, Schumacher's side will have to clinch promotion to the second tier to stand a chance of enjoying his services next season.

Brighton may be keen to see whether the England youth international can perform in the Premier League, but earning promotion to the Championship would give Bolton more chance of retaining the winger than staying in League One would.

Wanderers will have one eye on their summer transfer activity, but for now they will hope that Cozier-Duberry can lead them to the second tier.

The winger will be eager to cause more problems for defenders in the Greater Manchester club's upcoming clashes with Huddersfield Town, Bradford City, and Luton Town.
