Following a first pre-season run-out, attention turned to bookmakers’ prices outlining where Daniel Farke’s Leeds United could finish in their second season back in the Premier League.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Arsenal are 7-4 favourites, with Manchester City 3-1 and as short as 9-4 with some firms, Liverpool 7-1, Manchester United 15-2, Chelsea 9-1 and Tottenham 28-1, as short as 18s with some firms.

Nine weeks on from their 2025-26 finale at West Ham, Leeds faced Championship side Wrexham at the weekend at the Raymond James Stadium in New Jersey. Farke named a blend of experience and youth and several key players were absent.

Wrexham led after 31 seconds, then Leeds missed a penalty. Joel Piroe, who had missed that spot kick, and Sean Longstaff scored to make it 2-2 at half-time.

Summer signing Harry Wilson was introduced at the break and made an immediate impact as chances came and went, but Wrexham’s Sam Smith struck in the 88th minute to seal a 3-2 defeat for Leeds.

Pre-season results count for little, but the outing offered a first glimpse of a new look Whites. The latest odds compile a predicted table that sets Leeds alongside Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Everton and the newly promoted trio Coventry City, Ipswich Town and Hull City.
