Borja Sainz is in mourning after the death of his mother.
The club said in a statement on Thursday that it had received the news with deep sorrow, offered heartfelt condolences to his family and would stand by the player. It added that the funeral of Maria Begoña Egusquiza will take place on Friday afternoon in Bilbao.

The winger is already in Spain to bid a final farewell.
He will not be available for the I Liga round 24 match against Arouca, which is scheduled to kick off at 18:45 on Friday.
Sainz previously played for Norwich.
