Florian Plettenberg reports that Borussia Dortmund and 1. FC Heidenheim have reached an agreement over a loan deal for goalkeeping prospect Diant Ramaj. The 23-year-old will be moving back to his old academy side as planned. Both Bundesliga clubs have arranged a Monday medical.
Ramaj gets set to compete with veteran keeper Kevin Müller for minutes. Ramaj already served behind Müller during his time working as a professional for Heidenheim between 2019 and 2021. Unlike last time, the young keeper will be hoping to make an appearance for FCH.
After ultimately moving to Eintracht Frankfurt and making his professional debut there, German footballing administrator Sven Mislintat recruited Ramaj to Ajax Amsterdam in August of 2023. Mislintat, as a BVB administrator, was then instrumental in bring Ajax back to German football.
Dortmund brought the Stuttgart-native back to Germany (and immediately loaned him out to Copenhagen) last January. Ramaj made the most of his stint in Denmark, nevertheless making it clear that he had no intention to warm the BVB bench upon returning.
Plettenberg reports that Heidenheim have secured a purchase option as part of the deal. Ramaj presently retains a €7m estimated market value, down from a peak of €18m whilst representing Ajax in May of 2024.
