Barcelona will travel to Germany to face Borussia Dortmund for a second time this season on the 15th of April, in what will no doubt be one of the noisiest games of the season, and one of the best atmospheres.

New Dortmund manager Niko Kovac has so far struggled since taking over from Nuri Sahin, but the one area he has been successful is in Europe, where he has gone unbeaten in his four clashes so far, finding a way past AS Monaco and Sporting CP in the knockout stages with two wins and two draws. Dortmund will be desperate to get back to the Signal Iduna Park with the tie in the balance so that they can make their home advantage count.

That said, they did not manage to do so back in December, when Barcelona overcame them in the league phase. Despite coming from behind twice through Serhou Guirassy’s goals, Barcelona found a winner in the final ten minutes through Ferran Torres. A Barcelona win that ended three years unbeaten at home for Dortmund at home, and reinforced the improvement of Hansi Flick’s outfit.

Dortmund did show in that game that at the very least they have the weapons to cause Barcelona issues, starting with Guirassy, whose movement in behind was a frequent headache for Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi at the back for Barcelona. The pace of wingers like Jamie Gittens and Karim Adeyemi up against Barcelona’s high defensive line is another threat for Flick to contend with – if they can get the ball to them.

Of course Dortmund will have to at the very least slow down Flick’s side at the other end too, who have been in formidable form in Europe. Raphinha (11) and Robert Lewandowski (9) are two of the top scorers in competition alongside Guirassy (10), while Lamine Yamal continues to cause headaches for opposition defenders whenever he touches the ball. What will give Dortmund hope is that Barcelona have been showings signs of fatigue, especially in their La Liga clash with Real Betis, and should more mistakes appear in their play, it is not a system built to survive miscalculations.

How and where to Buy Tickets to the big game?

Of course for any game of such prestige, the quarter-finals of the Champions League, demand for tickets will be high. If you’re Barcelona-minded, the only hope of getting into the away end is to ensure you are one of the supporters club members that are offered the tickets by the club.

Borussia Dortmund have already sold out their allocation of the 81,000-seater, including all of their VIP options, another sign of the high demand for the game.

It means that if you want to get to the game, you may have to look into other options, such as a third-party website.
