Bournemouth have expressed interest in Christos Mandas, Il Messaggero reports, with Lazio setting a €20 million valuation. The club are not willing to offer discounts, particularly to the Cherries after the pursuit of primary midfield target Alex Toth was derailed and with a possible race for Brazilian teenager Rayan.
Mandas, 24, earned opportunities under Igor Tudor and Marco Baroni and became first choice in the second half of the previous campaign. Maurizio Sarri restored Ivan Provedel as No.1, and the Greek has not featured in Serie A this season.
Lazio and Mandas have agreed to go their separate ways. He has been linked with Genoa in a loan swap involving Nicola Leali, with Juventus, and with a reunion with Baroni at Torino, though there has been no recent progress.
If the goalkeeper departs, sporting director Angelo Fabiani has lined up two potential replacements. One is Filip Stankovic, 23, Venezia’s goalkeeper and the son of former Lazio midfielder Dejan Stankovic.
The other is Bento, who was close to joining Genoa on loan from Al-Nassr last week. The Saudi club blocked the move amid a selection crisis, though he could still leave in the coming weeks if a solution is found.
