Brasileirão 2026, Cruzeiro lead spend as clubs reshape after World Cup break | OneFootball

The Brasileirão has resumed after the World Cup break, with Serie A clubs busy reshaping squads for the run-in. So far there have been 54 departures and 45 arrivals.

According to Globo.com, Cruzeiro have spent the most, around R$ 90 million on Gabriel Rojas and Gabriel Pec. Both are registered and could debut against Internacional on Wednesday.

Mirassol were the most active during the pause, adding seven signings and sanctioning six exits. Across the division, centre-backs and forwards have been the hottest positions, with 12 recruits in each role.

Only one change in the dugout, as Vasco replaced Renato Gaúcho with Portuguese coach Pedro Emanuel. Grêmio added four reinforcements, including Jovane Cabral, the Cape Verde midfielder who started against Spain and Argentina at the World Cup.

Bragantino, Corinthians, Flamengo and Santos have not announced signings yet. Flamengo are focusing on Thiago Almada, who was with Argentina at the tournament, while the São Paulo clubs’ quiet stance reflects a FIFA-imposed transfer ban.

Since 6 July clubs have been allowed to register players via an extra domestic window opened by the CBF, and some have already made their debuts in the advanced 19th-round fixtures. On Monday the second window opened, enabling the registration of returnees from abroad, such as Thiago Silva at Fluminense and Bahia’s Guido Herrera, Marco Moreno and Alejo Véliz.

With more than a month and a half of the window remaining, clubs will continue to be active in the market.
