Brazil to play Australia twice then India as 2030 cycle begins | OneFootball

Brazil will face Australia twice, then India, in the first FIFA window after the 2026 World Cup, launching preparations for the 2028 Copa América and the 2030 World Cup. According to Coluna Do Fla, the fixtures fall between 21 September and 6 October.

The Seleção play Australia on 25 September at Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville. Four days later they meet again at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

On 3 October Brazil play India for the first time at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata, which holds 63,000. The last Brazil v Australia meeting was on 13 June 2017 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, a 4-0 win sealed by Diego Souza, twice, Thiago Silva and Taison.

Carlo Ancelotti said the matches will start the new cycle and allow call-ups for new players, especially youngsters, with closer links to the under-15, under-17 and under-20 teams. He highlighted Rayan’s emergence from under-17 four years ago and noted Olympic preparation could feed players who might feature in 2030.

At the 2026 finals Brazil drew 1-1 with Morocco, then beat Haiti and Scotland 3-0 to top Group C. They defeated Japan 2-1 in the round of 32, before a 2-1 loss to Norway in the last 16, with Haaland scoring both.

The 2030 World Cup will be staged mainly in Morocco, Portugal and Spain, with Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay hosting three centenary matches. The tournament is scheduled for 8 June to 21 July.
