Brentford boss hits back at critics following Carabao Cup win
Brentford secured a 2-0 victory over Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup second round.
Fabio Carvalho opened the scoring for Brentford, with substitute Igor Thiago adding a second goal.
Brentford manager Keith Andrews stated the win would help silence critics after losing Thomas Frank, Bryan Mbeumo and captain Christian Norgaard this summer, and also praised the team's togetherness.
Andrews also highlighted positive performances from players returning from long-term injuries, including Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey, and Igor Thiago.
Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola accepted responsibility for his team's performance, acknowledging that making eight changes meant they were not ready for the match, and Julian Araujo was sent off late in the game.
