The winger impressed in the Premier League last term.

It has all been rather quiet on the transfer front at Burnley, although there have been growing links around the club's prized assets.

The Clarets have already completed the permanent signing of Florentino, as they had an obligation to buy the defensive-midfielder after his season-long loan at Turf Moor.

Despite the club's relegation from the Premier League, they still possess several players who have maintained their reputation and are catching the eyes of Premier League clubs.

Indeed, Brentford, who were everyone's surprise package last season, have made their interest known by mounting a bid for one of Burnley's gems.

Jaidon Anthony enjoyed a stellar season at Turf Moor, bagging nine goals and four assists in all competitions, as he ranked as England's third most fruitful winger in the Premier League.

It has been reported that Brentford have entered talks for the winger, with Burnley expected to ask for around £20million for his services.

Now, the Bees have tabled a new bid for the 26-year-old, with discussions ongoing, according to Sky Sports News' Lyle Thomas.

The publication adds that the West London club want to sign at least one winger this summer, and Anthony would be a versatile option as he can play on either side.

The Clarets are in a strong selling position given that Anthony still has three years remaining on his current deal, and it has not been reported how much Brentford's latest bid actually is.

The Clarets should hold firm on Anthony price

There is no denying that Anthony would be a key man for Burnley in the Championship next season as he has already demonstrated what he can do at that level with Burnley.

During the Clarets' last campaign in the second tier, the winger contributed eight goals and seven assists as the club finished behind champions Leeds United.

A move to Brentford would likely appeal to the 26-year-old as it would give him a route back to the Premier League while he could return to his home city.

However, considering that the Englishman has three years remaining on his contract, the Lancashire club should hold out for the fee they desire for one of their star players.

Given that Burnley reportedly paid Bournemouth less than £10m for the winger, they are primed to receive a decent profit, and although £20m feels a tad high, if they can yield around that figure, then it would represent solid business.
