Brentford are sweating on Mikkel Damsgaard’s fitness for Saturday night’s trip to Leeds United at Elland Road, while the hosts are only missing suspended Gabriel Gudmundsson.

Damsgaard returned to training after a knock on Monday. He went off after 72 minutes in the 2-2 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers and missed some sessions this week. The Bees will give him every chance to prove he is ready for tomorrow.

Brentford are without full-backs Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey because of hamstring issues. Vitaly Janelt, metatarsal, and Josh Dasilva, knee ligament, remain out, and Fábio Carvalho and Antoni Milambo are sidelined for the season with ACL injuries. Damsgaard hit two and set up one in the recent win over Burnley.

Leeds have everyone fit beyond Gudmundsson and welcome a Brentford side in fine away form, with victories at Burnley, Newcastle United and Aston Villa. The visitors come in on a good run, looking calm and confident in their work after handling recent tests well.

In the wider relegation picture, Tottenham Hotspur face a new setback as first-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is to undergo hernia surgery next week. He has started all 30 of their Premier League games, and although he did not begin the Champions League last-16 first leg against Atletico Madrid, he was introduced after back-up Antonín Kinský conceded three inside 17 minutes with two errors. The procedure is planned to limit disruption and he could return within the next month, with rehabilitation to start immediately.
