Brentford ‘to submit’ offer for Lazio winger Matteo Cancellieri | OneFootball

According to The Laziali, Brentford are poised to table a formal bid for Lazio winger Matteo Cancellieri by Wednesday, worth around €15-16 million.

The Bees sit fifth in the Premier League and are seeking mid-season reinforcements to bolster a push for European qualification.

Scouts from the West London club reportedly watched the Biancocelesti’s last two matches, against Fiorentina on Wednesday and Hellas Verona on Sunday. Lazio are said to have suggested Gustav Isaksen instead, but Brentford prefer the Italian winger after seeing him live.

Lazio are open to sales at the right price. They moved Taty Castellanos to West Ham United and Matteo Guendouzi to Fenerbahce last week, with both valued at €30 million, so it is unclear if €15 million would satisfy president Claudio Lotito.

The Biancocelesti have brought in Serbian striker Petar Ratkov and Dutch midfielder Kenneth Taylor. They still plan to add a right-footed midfielder, potentially Alex Toth, and a left winger to cover Mattia Zaccagni, with Daniele Maldini and Lorenzo Insigne among the leading options. There have been no serious links to right-wingers so far.
