The Blues look to continue their solid start to the season

Chelsea return from the international break with their second consecutive west London derby, travelling today to Brentford. The Blues were not at full bore as they edged past Fulham last time out, and will hope to find fresh form against Keith Andrews’ Bees today. Brentford have been somewhat unconvincing in the early stages of the campaign after a tumultuous summer, failing to impress in losses to Nottingham Forest and Sunderland, though those results are in stark contrast to a League Cup upset of Bournemouth and a narrow win over Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.

Enzo Maresca has already enjoyed a productive Saturday, having shed another member of the ‘bomb squad’ by sending David Datro Fofana on loan to Turkey, and will hope to build on that off-pitch success with a win on the grass. He may have to do so without the injured Cole Palmer, though, with the talismanic forward set for a late fitness test.
