Tottenham Hotspur recently completed the signing of Andrew Robertson and secured a deal for Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi.
Tottenham are also interested in Brighton & Hove Albion defender Jan Paul van Hecke. Their first two bids for the Dutchman have been rejected.
Van Hecke is keen to join Tottenham, and manager Roberto De Zerbi is pushing for the move, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The 26-year-old made 50 appearances under De Zerbi at Brighton, and he wants to reunite with him at Tottenham.
Van Hecke has been described as one of the ‘better all-round defenders‘ in the Premier League
He is aggressive, capable of progressing the ball up the pitch, and ranked fourth in the league last term for accurate passes per game.
Van Hecke is also a dangerous attacking outlet, having contributed six goal involvements last season.
Liverpool reportedly contacted the Brighton centre-back over a move before the dismissal of Arne Slot, while Chelsea are also monitoring his situation.
Tottenham are still the front-runners, as Liverpool and Chelsea have yet to make a formal offer.
Van Hecke is set to represent the Netherlands at this summer’s World Cup, further underlining why some of England’s top clubs want him.
