Brighton & Hove Albion sign Japanese midfielder Tsunoda

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Seagulls this morning.
The 20-year-old midfielder joins Brighton & Hove Albion from Japanese SOMPO WE League club Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Urawa Reds. Tsunoda has spent her entire senior career to date in her native Japan with The Reds. She has been in and around the first team environment for the last three years.
Tsunoda has won a whole host of silverware with The Reds including two SOMPO WE League titles and back-to-back AFC Women’s Champions League titles.
On the international stage, Tsunoda has represented Japan at various youth levels up to and including Under-20 level.
After adding Tsunoda to his Brighton & Hove Albion squad, head coach Dario Vidošić said “We’re delighted to bring Fuka to the club.
“She has got good experience in a competitive league in Japan and has been playing regularly for Urawa this season.
“She will improve our midfield options and we’re looking forward to working with her.”
At this stage, it is unknown whether Tsunoda will be available to make her Brighton & Hove Albion debut when they face Aston Villa this weekend.
