Brighton made an offer to Liverpool to sell their star player.
The transfer window is over and we can all take a collective sigh of relief. We don't have to be tracking planes anymore, or looking at Newcastle United's transfer activity.

Alexander Isak is free. He has got his wish and he has become a Liverpool player. He joins an exciting group of players at the club.
Liverpool's frontline now includes both him and Mo Salah as well as Hugo Ekitike and Cody Gakpo.
Rio Ngumoha has caught the eye as he has emerged from the academy and Florian Wirtz is simply an excellent addition playing just behind that exciting attack.
Richard Hughes has done a brilliant job to make all of this happen. The club's sporting director has been the mastermind behind a summer of euphoria for the club's fans.
It's been a pleasure watching it unfold. Step by step. With so much gratification coming at the very end. Hopefully, there will be even more to come as the signings culminate to more success on the pitch, and more trophies.
But Liverpool's business is not finished just yet.
It's been a great summer. Yet there are still things to resolve. What will happen to Marc Guehi for example? Will Liverpool pounce in the January window? Or will they sign him on a free transfer? Will they sign him at all?
Then there's the question of bringing in a reinforcement to replace Harvey Elliott. Morgan Rogers has been touted as an option but is that going to possible for Liverpool to pull off? Only time will tell.
Looking even more into the future, the next two windows could also define Liverpool's right-side. Hughes will need to find a viable option for the right-wing, someone who can replace Salah in the long-term, especially after his contract expires in 2027 - if he stays at Anfield until then.
There are a lot of variables at play here. Even just a few months is a very long amount of time in football. So, let's wait and see what the future holds.
One thing is very apparent is that things could have turned out differently for Liverpool this summer.
According to a recent interview with Lewis Steele on Anfield Index, Liverpool had other options in the transfer market.
The Daily Mail's Steele claims the Reds were offered the chance to sign Joao Pedro by Brighton
"Earlier on in the window, Joao Pedro was on the list, or was offered to Liverpool at some point earlier on in the year," Steele said.
"Because Paul Barber, who is the Brighton CEO, was going around telling other parties that Liverpool were interested. That was maybe Liverpool being used to drive up the market for Pedro, before he went to Chelsea."
So it seems like before the Brighton star made his big move to Stamford Bridge, the Reds were given an opportunity to make a move for him.
However, Liverpool have always had their eyes on Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak, so they passed up the opportunity.
This is why the Reds are so good at what they do. They plan things in advance and won't make decisions on a whim. They knew their targets and who they wanted, and they stuck to those players.
