Brighton sign Portugal U21 winger Rodrigo Rego | OneFootball

Brighton & Hove Albion have added to their squad for the future with the signing of Portugal Under-21 international Rodrigo Rego from Benfica on a five-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old winger has already gained valuable first-team experience in Portugal, making five senior appearances for Benfica, including a debut in the Champions League under José Mourinho last season.

He also featured regularly for Benfica B, amassing 21 appearances in the Portuguese second tier, and was handed a full 90 minutes in a domestic cup victory over Atlético CP.

Rego, who is capable of playing on either flank but is primarily deployed on the right wing, has also represented Portugal at Under-21 level, underlining his growing reputation as one of the country’s promising young attacking talents.
