Brighton go in search of their third home win of the season when they host Tottenham, who will have been boosted by last week’s 3-0 victory at Manchester United.

The game will take place at 4:30pm (UK time) on Sunday, October 6th, at the Amex Stadium and will be televised live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League.

Brighton made a storming start to life under 31-year-old manager Fabian Hurzeler with a 3-0 opening win at Everton and a 2-1 home success over Manchester United, but the Seagulls head into Sunday’s clash with Tottenham without a win in their last four Premier League games.

They were beaten by four Cole Palmer goals at Chelsea last week and their last two league outings at the Amex have been underwhelming draws against Ipswich and Nottingham Forest, so they need a win against Spurs to give them a spark.

Their visitors, meanwhile, have hit a purple patch with five successive league and cup victories and they could have won by more than the 3-0 scoreline at Old Trafford last week.

Manager Ange Postecoglou will be delighted that record signing Dominic Solanke has scored in each of his last two league outings to get off the mark for the north London outfit, while Brennan Johnson has answered recent criticism in perfect fashion by scoring in each of those five Tottenham successes.

Hurzeler will be thinking he can see the light at the end of the tunnel as Brighton are beginning to fight their way through what was quite a hefty injury list.

He should be able to welcome back Joel Veltman into the squad after he missed the trip to Stamford Bridge through illness, while the physios will have a busy time in the run-up to kick-off with late decisions on the fitness of Simon Adingra, Brajan Gruda, James Milner and Solly March.

The manager will still be unable to call upon striker Joao Pedro, while Jan Paul van Hecke and recent signing from Celtic Matt O’Riley remain on the sidelines.

Understandably with Tottenham in such excellent form, competition for places in Postecoglou’s starting line-up is high and he could be handed a tricky problem if skipper Heung-min Son proves he can start after missing the trip to Old Trafford and the Europa League victory at Ferencvaros with a thigh injury.

Hopes are high that left-back Destiny Udogie, who suffered a similar issue during the win over United, will be available, but both Richarlison (calf) and Wilson Odobert (thigh) will sit this one out.
