Sky Germany reports that, along with their pursuit of 1.FC Köln’s Said El Mala, Brighton will also look to sign his brother.
The Premier League side are continuing to push for the signature of the younger El Mala brother, following the rejection of their €30m bid earlier in the season.
In an attempt to get pursued, Said is to move to the south coast, and they will also look to sign his brother, too, in an attempt to make the move easier for the 19-year-old.
The older El Mala brother currently plays for Köln’s second team in the Regionalliga West as a striker, and has scored five goals in 12 games, before injury meant he has been absent since November.
If Brighton are able to complete the signing of both Said and Malek El Mala, the plan is for the 20-year-old to play for their under-21 team in the Premier League U21 league, to allow him to continue his development.
The El Mala brothers have followed each other everywhere in their careers, from being released by Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2021, to joining Viktoria Köln before then moving to the Rhein Energie Stadion last summer.
