Bristol City have signed midfielder Malaika Meena on a two-and-a-half-year deal with the option of a further year, from Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

She came through the academy systems at both Arsenal and Chelsea, before moving to the USA with Wake Forest University in North Carolina, where she spent three and a half years.

Meena told bcfc.co.uk: “I’m very excited to sign for Bristol City, especially with the ambition of this club, fighting for promotion.

“I’m really happy to be here.”

Michelle Yeowell, Head of Player Recruitment, added: “We’re delighted to bring Malaika to the club. She’s an exciting young player with lots of potential and we’re excited for her to grow with us.”
