Wrexham beat Preston North End 2-1 at the Cae Ras, climbing from 13th to 11th in the Championship as the visitors slipped from fifth to seventh.
In the 39th minute, Nathan Broadhead glanced a header into the bottom right from Kieffer Moore's cross to put Wrexham ahead.
Moore departed at the break injured, but substitute Sam Smith soon threatened, heading against the right post, while Arthur Okonkwo denied Thierry Small as Preston pressed.
Second half substitutes combined as Oliver Rathbone swept in low from George Dobson's through ball (77.).
Alfie Devine replied with a right-footed strike from outside the box (84.), set up by Michael Smith, setting up a tense finish.
Daniel Iversen made four saves to keep Preston in the contest. Wrexham registered 14 attempts with six on target. Preston produced 12 attempts and three on target.
Wrexham visit Blackburn Rovers next. Preston host Sheffield Wednesday next.
