Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has made a big decision over his club future as the winter window reaches its midpoint.

Fernandes speculation

Rumours that Fernandes could be on his way out of United are already rife as the Red Devils endure another challenging season.

Fernandes was undoubtedly United’s best player last term, notching an outstanding 19 goals and as many assists despite a lowly 15th-placed finish. He has carried his remarkable form into the current campaign and he currently boasts of five goals and eight assists in 18 Premier League appearances.

A move to the Saudi Pro League was firmly on the cards in the summer but Fernandes turned down eye-watering offers in favour of remaining at United.

In a recent admission, Fernandes stated that his choice to remain was heavily influenced by now-sacked manager  Ruben Amorim. This came after he sensed the club’s leadership group desired his departure but were unwilling to confront him about it.

A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Fernandes is keen to part ways with United after he and his teammates were embarrassingly knocked out of the FA Cup by Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.

Bayern Munich have been mentioned to be admirers of Fernandes.

Giving an update on the situation, Simon Stone of the BBC has revealed that the Portugal international has no intention to exit this month, although the situation may change in six months.

Fernandes transfer update

According to Stone, “Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is not planning to seek a move away from the club this month.”

“Sources with an understanding of the situation say that despite the upheaval, which led to Darren Fletcher being made interim boss for two games and Michael Carrick taking over as caretaker for the rest of the season, Fernandes remains committed to the club.”

The report adds that if Fernandes looks to leave, his priority will be to remain in Europe.

For now, the midfielder and United’s attention is on Saturday’s derby meeting with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
