Bruno Fernandes says Michael Carrick is showing he can be a “great manager” after Manchester United won their fourth game in a row against Tottenham.
Carrick, who was appointed as United’s head coach until the end of this season, continued his 100% win record since replacing Ruben Amorim as goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Fernandes secured victory following a red card for Tottenham defender Cristian Romero.
“Michael came in with the right ideas of giving the players responsibility but also some freedom to take the responsibility on the pitch to take decisions,” Fernandes told TNT Sports.
“He’s very good with his words. I was sure that Michael could be a great manager and he’s just showing it.
“We hope that we can help him even more.”
