Bryan Mbeumo has posted an emotional farewell to Brentford fans on social media, confirming his departure from the club after a historic spell in West London.
The 26-year-old forward, who has joined Manchester United, shared a heartfelt message and a short video on X (formerly Twitter).
Mbeumo leaves Brentford as a club legend. Since arriving from Troyes in 2019, he has been central to the Beesâ remarkable rise from the Championship to establishing themselves in the Premier League. According to Squawka, Mbeumo has been directly involved in more Premier League goals than any other Brentford player:
His 27 goal involvements last season were particularly outstanding, including 20 goals â making him only the second Brentford player to reach that milestone in a top-flight campaign.
The wingerâs departure sparked a wave of tributes from Brentford fans, fellow professionals, and football personalities. One fan account, The Brentford Hive, called him a âclub legend,â while others praised the dignified way he bid farewell.
Mbeumo's move to Manchester United marks a significant step in his career, and while some online responses were mixed â poking fun at Unitedâs current league position or speculating on the transferâs impact â there was widespread respect for his contribution to Brentford and the manner of his exit.
Now donning United red and representing Cameroon on the international stage, Mbeumo leaves behind a legacy at Brentford that will be remembered fondly by fans and teammates alike.
