Bukayo Saka injury latest after early England substitution | OneFootball

Bukayo Saka was withdrawn during England’s match against Greece on Thursday, with Lee Carsley confirming he’s being assessed for a potential injury.

In the build-up to Greece’s opening goal against England on Thursday, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka seemed to suffer some kind of injury. The winger was quickly withdrawn for Noni Madueke, and he went straight down the tunnel.

Eyeball assessments of the problem appeared to suggest a hamstring concern, and the player could be seen with a slight limp walking away from the game afterwards.

Speaking to the media, England boss Lee Carsley was asked whether Saka was withdrawn for injury reasons.

“Yeah,” Carsley answered. “He’s being assessed. Obviously in the build up to the first goal, you could see he felt something in his leg.”

Early rumours on social media suggest that the initial indications are that Saka is okay, but he still needs a scan to confirm that assessment.

Even a minor hamstring injury could see the winger miss a couple of weeks of action.

Arsenal face Bournemouth next Saturday, October 19th, then Shakhtar Donetsk the following Tuesday, October 22nd. But the big game coming up is against Liverpool on October 27th, just 16 days from now.

Given Saka’s form this season, with 10 goal contributions in 10 games for Arsenal, his availability against the league leaders could be vital.
