VfB Stuttgart, Hoffenheim, Augsburg and Werder Bremen have joined the race to sign OH Leuven central defender Roggerio Nyakossi (22), according to a report by Fussball Transfers.
Under contract until 2027, Nyakossi is coming back off a strong season after helping Leuven to a European play-off spot. But although missing out on European football for the upcoming season, the 22-year-old has attracted interest from Premier League duo Everton and Ipswich Town, French teams Lyon and Strasbourg, and Dutch club Feyenoord.
Nyakossi joined Leuven from Marseille in January 2025. L’OM retain a reported €6m buy-back clause in the Swiss U21 captain, who made 33 appearances across all competitions for his Belgian outfit.
Naturally, both Augsburg and Bremen are looking to strengthen defensive areas this summer after conceding 61 and 60 goals respectively, while Stuttgart and Hoffenheim are looking to add depth to their squad after securing European football for 2026/27.
