Burnley have parted company with head coach Scott Parker by mutual consent, one day before their trip to Leeds United, the club said in a statement.

The Clarets head to Elland Road on Friday already relegated, their drop confirmed last week after a 1-0 home defeat by Manchester City.

Parker oversaw a record 2024/25 campaign, winning promotion to the Premier League with a 31-match unbeaten run and 30 clean sheets.

This season brought four wins in 34 Premier League matches, including one against Farke’s side in October.

Assistant coach Mike Jackson will take interim charge for the remaining four league fixtures, starting at Elland Road. The club have begun the process of appointing a permanent head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.

A Leeds victory on Friday would virtually secure their Premier League status.

It will be the second straight game in which the Whites face an interim boss. Chelsea dismissed Liam Rosenior after a 3-0 defeat at Brighton, with Calum McFarlane then guiding them to a 1-0 Wembley win over a below-par Leeds in the FA Cup semi-final.

Earlier this month Leeds beat Manchester United 2-1 against temporary manager Michael Carrick.
