Burnley vs Everton: Preview, Predicted Lineups and Where to Watch

Everton will be looking to return to winning ways when they travel to Turf Moor to face relegation-threatened Burnley on Saturday.
A run of difficult fixtures against Chelsea and Arsenal did somewhat dampen the festive spirit at Hill Dickinson Stadium after the Toffees had won four of their previous five games before facing the London-based clubs.
Everton spent Christmas in the top half of the league table for the first time since 2020 but will be looking upwards at this stage, given that only five points separate them from the top four.
They’ll also fancy their chances against Burnley, who were on a seven-game losing streak before holding Bournemouth to a 1-1 draw last week. Armando Broja scored in the final minute of added time to secure the draw for Scott Parker’s men, who have picked up just 11 points this season and are second from bottom.
Seven points behind 17th-placed Nottingham Forest, they’ve been the most disappointing of the three promoted teams this season and face a difficult challenge of ensuring top-flight survival in the coming months.
Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye are on AFCON duty with Senegal while Jarrad Branthwaite, Seamus Coleman and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall are in the treatment room, nursing hamstring injuries.
The Blues don’t have any fresh injury concerns before their trip to east Lancashire.
Tyler Dibling could replace Dwight McNeil in the lineup as the teenager is still trying to stake his claim in the Blues’ starting XI, in Ndiaye's absence.
Everton’s predicted starting XI: Jordan Pickford, Jake O’Brien, James Tarkowski, Michael Keane, Vitalii Mykolenko, James Garner, Tim Iroegbunam, Charly Alcaraz, Tyler Dibling, Thierno Barry, Jack Grealish.
Burnley: L-L-L-L-D
Everton: L-W-W-L-L
Everton will face Burnley at Turf Moor on the afternoon of December 27, Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled at 3:00 pm UK time.
This Premier League game between Burnley and Everton will not be broadcast live on television in the United Kingdom due to the embargo on Saturday, 3:00 pm kickoffs. Highlights will be available on Sky Sports shortly after.

John/Anjishnu, I don't actually get that but can sympathise.
I do know some of these Anti Virus Platforms Norton, McAfee etc, use aggressive tactics to frighten you into purchase, plus when you have them, they put fictitious alerts etc, to just ' justify ' their existence, making you think glad you purchased in the first place.

John @1,
Just happened to me, I used Avast on my laptop. No problem when I access via my phone.
I'm sure the 'tech team' will sort it out.

Edward,
I am by no means a tech or PC expert but I was told a long while ago by someone who knew their stuff that the security on mobiles was superior and less fallible than PCs or Laptops.

They have some players away in Africa also, so we can't have many excuses whatever the result.
We need for Grealish to get more involved and create some good chances and have a go to score himself. Also, it's time for some of our second-choice players to show their worth.
I think we might come away with 1 1-goal victory but it will be a struggle, I feel.

No doubt, we'll make heavy weather with this game but the Blues will edge this one...
1-2.

Burnley are second bottom, and crap.
Anything but a win is inexcusable.
Merle Urquart 13 Posted 26/12/2025 at 20:46:39
I would like us to go for Burnley from the off with none of this feeling our way into the game.
l've a feeling, however, that we will concentrate on trying to nullify the Burnley threat rather than just going for the jugular.
l live in hope.

More of the same from Moyes, more or less the same 11 to start (McNeil, not Dibling) more or less the same excuses / internal thinking (Afcon, injuries, poor bench, The Three Amigos) to justify more or less the same performance...
And as Burnley aren't (allegedly) as good as Arsenal, maybe a better result -- more or less.
On the 3rd day of Christmas, The Amigos gave to me...

These comments really are depressing. What happened to Christmas cheer? I know it's over but it's still the season.
I believe in the Blues.

McMessi left, Grealish at 10, Alcaraz right... sorted.

Hope you all had a great Xmas and that we trounce the opposition today.
Oh yes, just to say once more, I hate this new style ToffeeWeb!!
Is there an alternative?

I read with interest a piece on twitter this morning by Paul the Esk as he was known on T/W but our editor Michael likes him to be referred to by his name Paul Quinn. Paul has been a big supporter of the Friedkin groups takeover of the club, but the piece he wrote today is a bit worrying to say the least. He says " financial news released around this holiday period can often be viewed as companies wishing to bury news.
He says this is something our previous owners did, and he thought it surprising that our new owners under the ownership name of Roundhouse holdings would inform shareholders of the dividend they would pay on some or all of the proceeds from the sale of the womans football team. They propose to pay around £20 per share, he estimates the pay out would reduce Everton's balances by around £43.98m.
He then rightly questions is this the right time to make such a payment given the recruitment requirements that will be needed in this January window.
I hadn't made the link with Armando Broja — gone nd forgotten in a flash... or more like a feeble puff of smoke.
He seemed like a nice lad, but we say that about them all (except Neal Maupay)... and it is still Christmas after all.
I'm reading that he took a while to get off the mark for Burnley, only scoring his first of the season last Saturday to help salvage that 1-1 draw at Bournemouth.
So, according to the tried and tested ToffeeWeb principle I must have read a thousand times on here, the floodgates for him are now well and truly open... beware!
[Hope I'm not tempting the Fickle Finger of Fate with that one... or it will be upon my head!]
