BVB explores Osaka and looks forward to reuniting with Kagawa | OneFootball

The BVB Evonik Japan Tour is themed “BUILT ON KIZUNA.” In Japanese, “Kizuna” refers to the special bond that connects people through trust, solidarity, and mutual connection. With this theme, the Black and Yellows once again express their special connection to the fans and the people of Japan. 

No one embodies this connection quite like Shinji Kagawa. The Japanese player wore the Black and Yellow jersey from 2010 to 2012 and again from 2014 to 2019, becoming a fan favorite. “We also have Shinji to thank for the status that BVB enjoys in Japan,” says Carsten Cramer, spokesperson for the BVB Board of Management. So it comes as no surprise that, on the very first day, there was a reunion between the Black and Yellows and the former Borussian player, who now plays for Cerezo Osaka.

Kagawa was already waiting with two teammates when a group including Waldemar Anton, Alex Meyer, Daniel Svensson, Mathis Albert, and Almugera Kabar set off on a boat tour of the Dotonbori Canal. Together, they promoted the upcoming match between the two teams scheduled for Wednesday. The boat then set off, and the cruise offered views of colorful billboards – such as the famous Glico neon sign – and the lively hustle and bustle of the neighborhood.

Meanwhile, Serhou Guirassy, Fabio Silva, Joane Gadou, Yan Couto, Justin Lerma, and Carney Chukwuemeka visited Osaka Castle and immersed themselves in Japanese history. The historic fortress, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, houses a history museum.

Maxi Beier, Patrick Drewes, Filippo Mane, Samuele Inacio, and Enzo dos Santos headed up to the top of the Tsutenkaku Tower. The 103-meter-high observation tower in the retro Shinsekai district offers a sweeping view of the city. (cr)
