Calleri ends the Paulistão as São Paulo’s attacking focal point

São Paulo bid farewell to the Campeonato Paulista last Sunday after being defeated by Palmeiras 2-1 in the semifinal of the state competition. Despite the elimination, the Tricolor ended with a clear individual highlight in the offensive sector: Jonathan Calleri.

The number 9 finished the Paulistão as the player with the most direct goal involvements for the team, totaling five in all. With five goals, the Argentine striker led the statistic even without providing assists and was the player who contributed the most to São Paulo's attack.

Right behind Calleri in the ranking of participations was Luciano, with four direct contributions to goals, being two goals and two assists. Closing the Top 3, Damián Bobadilla appears with two goals and one assist.

After a turbulent 2025

After experiencing a 2025 marked by a severe left knee injury, Calleri regained his starting position in Hernán Crespo's team. Despite competing for the position with Tapia, who stands out for important goals in classics, the Argentine has been the main option in the attack command.
