Marc Brys
Belgian coach Marc Brys is expected in Cameroon this Friday. Once in the country, Brys will be tasked with clarifying his position in the so-called "resignation affair".
On Friday, August 1, Marc Brys returns to Cameroon. This comes after several days of uncertainty and open tensions with FECAFOOT. His Ethiopian Airlines flight is scheduled to land in Yaoundé shortly before 2pm.
Barely off the plane, Brys will head straight to the Unity Palace, where he will be received by Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, Secretary General of the Presidency. This symbolic meeting is meant to reaffirm the support of President Paul Biya—already the driving force behind Brys' appointment via the Ministry of Sports (Minsep)—at the expense of FECAFOOT.
In the evening, Marc Brys will be a guest on the CRTV’s English-language news (7:30pm) and French-language news (8:30pm), where he’ll speak publicly for the first time since the crisis began. The coach is also expected to hold a press conference on Saturday at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium, where he’ll unveil his preliminary squad for the September qualifiers against Eswatini and Cape Verde for the 2026 World Cup.
