After a long injury layoff, young Moroccan talent Chadi Riad is far from match-fit—a worrying sign just four months before the kickoff of CAN 2025 in Morocco.
Having suffered a knee injury from early September to late December 2024, followed by a ruptured cruciate ligament that prematurely ended his season last January, Chadi Riad is set to miss a significant portion of the first half of the 2025-2026 campaign. His coach, Oliver Glasner, confirmed during Friday's press conference that the defender will be sidelined for at least two more months.
"No player is coming back from injury—so not Eddie Nketiah, not Matheus França as he can't train with the team at the moment. Not Caleb Kporha. And of course, Cheick Doucouré and Chadi Riad will be out for the next two months," declared the coach.
