Nigeria national team head coach Eric Chelle has responded to whether his team can go all the way and lift the coveted Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) trophy in Morocco.
The Super Eagles are set to lock horns with Algeria in the quarter-finals of the continental showpiece in Marrakech on Saturday, 10 January.
Chelle's men have been touted as one of the favorites for the title, and they have lived up to the hype with 12 goals scored, while conceding just four throughout the tournament.
When asked if Nigeria can reign supreme in Africa once again, the French-Malian tactician refused to get carried away, opting to focus on one game at a time.
“I prefer to stay focused now on Marrakech and there is a game to play and after the game we can think about our accommodation, but now we go to Marrakech and I hope, if God is with me, we will travel for another town,” Chelle said.
"But now we go to the Marrakech and the story starts in the Marrakech, so we have to stay focused on Marrakech, training sessions, and the next game.
Nigeria, three-time African champions, will be desperately looking to clinch the prestigious silverware for the first time since 2013 under the late Stephen Keshi.
