Canada steps onto the world stage this summer as both co-hosts and competitors, carrying the hopes of a nation eager to make a deep impression on home soil at the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Jesse Marsch’s side earned their place in the tournament automatically, given Canada’s role as one of three co-hosting nations alongside the United States and Mexico — a privilege officially confirmed by the FIFA Council back in February 2023.
While the qualification route required no traditional campaign, Canada have kept themselves sharp through a series of friendlies and send-off matches in the build-up, and come into the tournament ranked 30th in the world.
Les Rouges carry genuine momentum into 2026. Their participation in Qatar four years ago marked the nation’s first World Cup appearance since 1986, and despite an early exit in the group stage, the experience proved invaluable for a squad that has grown in confidence and quality since.
With Alphonso Davies leading from the back and Jonathan David offering a proven goal threat up front, Canada are no longer simply content to participate — they are here to compete.
Canada have been drawn in Group B at the tournament, where Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar and Switzerland await.
All kick-off times are BST.
