Jesse Marsch has named his 26-man ‘best ever’ Canada squad for the 2026 World Cup, including Jonathan David of Juventus and Sassuolo’s Ismael Koné.
Canada are co-hosting the tournament this summer with the USA and Mexico, running from June 11 to July 19.
As such, they were given automatic qualification as top seeds for the expanded 32-team competition.
The biggest doubt for coach Marsch had been Alphonso Davies, who was out for eight months after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in October 2025, and sustained a muscular problem playing for Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final.
He might miss the first game, but has been given the all-clear to be part of the squad.

There are two Serie A representatives, namely Juventus striker David and Sassuolo midfielder Koné.
Another familiar face for Serie A is former Inter midfielder Tajon Buchanan.
“We have really our best group of 26 players that this country has ever assembled at any one time,” said Marsch.
Canada will play against Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar and Switzerland.
