Cancelling HCTS is a constructive idea, but will it make a difference?

The Celtic support have once again been pushed closer to the edge by the incompetent board members due to their embarrassing actions on the transfer front, and it looks like many will be taking action in the form of snubbing tickets for upcoming cup games.

A significant number of supporters have already taken their names off the HCTS which automatically comes out of your bank account, and with the upcoming Europa league ticket money due, it could quite possibly hit the club hard in a place that they will feel the most, and that of course is right in the wallet.

But whilst it’s a proactive tactical move to actually vent our feelings on the way our club is being run, will it send out the necessary message?

Celtic have a high number of supporters on the HCTS, and although that number could seriously dwindle it will free up spare briefs for the general public, and for those who don’t normally get a sniff of a ticket.

We have tens of thousands of supporters on the season ticket waiting list which shows the demand for briefs amongst our support, and you can bet that a high number of those supporters will snap up any brief on offer, especially on a European night.

Which makes you wonder if snubbing the HCTS is actually going to make any significant difference because all it might achieve is to replace one paying CUSTOMER with another.

However actually doing SOMETHING is better than doing nothing at all and you will certainly feel better if you have taken some action to show the board what you think about how they are running the club. The promised to be world class in everything they do now they can’t even communicate with the support in any meaning way.

Having seen the Celtic squad for the Europa League those supporters cancelling their HCTS and those not going to the European games might think that’s not a bad call given our chances have been reduced dramatically since the match against Young Boys at Celtic Park at the end of January with Kyogo, Kuhn and Idah all sold.
