Candela praises Ranieri: “Fourth place is now possible.” | OneFootball

Former Roma defender Vincent Candela praised Claudio Ranieri’s work in the Italian capital.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Candela commented on the manager’s current streak with the Giallorossi.

“Ranieri has changed the mentality of the teams wherever he has gone,” he said. “Juric had made disasters, Claudio has put the church back at the center of the village bringing serenity and giving confidence to some key elements in the squad.

“The results he is obtaining are important, but the value of Roma could not be that seen in the first part of the season. The team built by De Rossi made sense and there are players who have been underestimated.”

“I think they can get to the bottom of both competitions, they have the squad and mentality to do it and to compete with big teams like Bilbao.”

“There are two and a half months left, you can’t ignore anything, you have to grit your teeth and keep working. But another step is needed.”

“To get to Europe you have to improve your offensive data. Roma must score more given how much they produce. You have to be more aggressive in front of goal and close out games earlier. At the Olimpico it’s often easier given the support of the crowd.”
