AFTER ROMA

“It was undeniably a really tough game after three matches without a win for us, and then with a break because of the internationals, so we had time to mull everything over.

“We knew that another misstep could have really hurt us, so the girls were even better than usual in their preparation and with how they approached the game, doing exactly what we had prepared to do.”

FIRST MATCH POINT VS MILAN

“Milan are clearly the most in-form team in the Poule Scudetto at the moment, and that counts for a lot. They’re a squad who are playing really good football and deserve respect. Of course, our motivations are completely different and we want to go out there and get the result we need.

“We’ll take to the field from the first minute with the right fight to get the job done. It’s going to be great to play this game in front of our own fans, and we’re hoping for a big support which will be a great help to us, even though the day, time and the weather aren’t ideal.”

ON THE GROUP

“There’s a great atmosphere, and the win against Roma was further evidence of our worth. We know we’re one step away from an objective, but we’re just as aware that we can’t give up even an inch. It’s been a great week of work, it’s been intense in training, as always, with a really good feeling.

“There’s positivity in the dressing room, which there has even been in the tougher times, and that’s one of our real strong points this season. The girls are in good shape, and [Barbara] Bonansea will be back in the squad, but she’ll be evaluated further on Friday morning.”
