Gazzetta suggests that Gerry Cardinale has approved Milan’s summer transfer strategy, which includes a move for Lazio defender Mario Gila.
Milan intend to add quality and depth to a group likely to feature in next season’s Champions League.
Gila is viewed as the main defensive objective and remains contracted to Lazio until 2027. Inter, Juventus and Napoli are also credited with interest, and the Spaniard is considered unlikely to extend in Rome.
Coach Massimiliano Allegri has already identified Gila as a leading option at the back. Cardinale has authorised club directors to begin work on the coach’s requests, which also include a winger comfortable on both flanks and a striker.
Udinese’s Thomas Kristensen is viewed as an alternative if a deal for Gila cannot be struck. Bayern Munich’s Kim, formerly of Napoli, is considered less feasible due to the cost.
