Carlo Ancelotti has extended his Brazil contract to 2030, with the World Cup only weeks away. The tournament runs from 11 June to 19 July.

The federation said in a statement on Thursday the deal adds four years, taking him through the 2030 World Cup. This secures the 66-year-old at the helm for the tournament.

Ancelotti arrived in May 2025 from Real Madrid, where he won three Champions Leagues. He was appointed after Dorival Junior was dismissed following a 4-1 defeat to Argentina.

He said the past year had been spent working to return Brazil to the top of the world, adding that he and the federation want more, including more wins, time and work.

Before his arrival, Brazil went through three head coaches after Tite’s exit at the end of the 2022 World Cup. He is the first foreign coach to lead the Seleção since Argentine Filpo Núñez in 1965.

Next month in North America, Brazil are in Group C with Morocco, Scotland and Haiti.
