Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Friday moved to reiterate his appreciation for the talents of a leading member of his midfield ranks.
The player in question? Federico Valverde.
Midfielder Valverde, for his part, has of course enjoyed another superb campaign in Spain’s capital to date.
Continuing to act as one of the first names on the team sheet of boss Ancelotti, the Uruguayan has racked up 32 appearances across all competitions.
And, along the way, Valverde has added a new-found consistency to his game in the attacking third, to the tune of eight goals and four assists.
This includes a number of stunning long-range strikes.
Speaking to the media in his latest pre-match press conference on Friday, the subject of his engine room standout’s talents was in turn put to the aforementioned Carlo Ancelotti once more.
And the Italian did not hesitate in waxing lyrical about Valverde:
“Fede Valverde never asks me where to play him. He is the most complete player in the world. He can play anywhere. He can even play centre-back!”
