Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has provided an update on the wellbeing of star attacker Kylian Mbappé.

This comes after the Frenchman was forced to sit out training at Valdebebas on Tuesday.

Mbappé was an altogether noteworthy absence from group activities, as Real Madrid’s stars continued their recovery efforts following Sunday’s victory over Girona.

Just 24 hours out from Los Blancos’ Copa del Rey semi-final first leg meeting with Real Sociedad, the summer arrival in Spain’s capital therefore saw his status thrown up in the air.

It was subsequently revealed that Mbappé’s absence came owing to a dental concern, after the 26-year-old had a tooth extraction on Monday.

Speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference, the subject of Mbappé’s wellbeing was in turn put to manager Carlo Ancelotti.

And Real Madrid’s headmaster went on to explain:

“Kylian Mbappé will travel with the team and it’s possible that he will play. He did not train today because of a tooth problem.”
